this week in snoots
snow, snoots, and many valentines
Hello hello!! This past week has been a busy one, full of doggie playdates and LOTS OF SNOW!!! (As you already know) I have such mixed feelings about snow because the dogs love it so much, but half the time they can barely be out in it because of snow gear malfunctions (COUGH COUGH I’M TALKING ABOUT YOU, BAD DOG BOOTIE MAKING COMPANIES). I did try a new type of snow gear this week, but we’ll get to that in a little bit.
Our first playdate of the week was with Marcy’s friend Sasha. They are SUCH a goofy pair, just two baby Borzoi girls throwing their noodle bodies around together (Sasha is a little over one year old). Usually, we do solo Marcy and Sasha trips because Abby doesn’t really care to hang out with them, and Cleo is usually a little punk (lol). BUT I brought Cleo this time, and I think they all had a good time. They got some very good zoomies in, and I wish we could’ve stayed longer, but it was freezing out, and I was also feeling a bit under the weather, so we called it after an hour or so.
With Valentine’s this week, I knew I needed to do something silly to commemorate it. I ended up deciding on a “Pick Your Noodle Valentine” idea and knew I needed to get the girls something festive for the video. So, I made Abby come shopping with me at Michael’s after her water treadmill therapy to pick up some ribbons. She ADORES going inside buildings, and I think she was floored that there are stores filled with things other than dog toys/treats/food. This week, we also had the pleasure of showcasing some of the current residents at the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control. The volunteers there are so incredibly kind, and it is always a pleasure to get to spend the day with them meeting all of the sweetest dogs.

Earlier this week, we confirmed that we were collaborating with Earth Rated again, which I was OVER THE MOON ABOUT. I love working with brands that offer such amazing products and want to do long-term partnerships. We did another bath time video, but this one features Cleo. I had Dom (noodle dad) assist with filming for this ad because I wanted a “spa feel” showing me lathering and rinsing Cleo. It was honestly so fascinating seeing how differently he sees and films Cleo versus how I do. I feel like I always film Cleo in a way that makes her seem so much larger, while he films her as the small little noodle that she is. Here’s a comparison to show you what I mean:

Dom had Thursday and Friday off this past week, and it was PERFECT TIMING because we had a snowstorm Wednesday into Thursday, so we were able to have some fun snow adventures all together. With all the snow I got to try out Cleo’s new snow suspenders, which just look like dog a**less chaps (LMAO). At first, she would not move in them at all; she just stood in the living room and barked for us to come get her 😅. But after some bribing, she started walking around and getting the hang of them. They are honestly the best solution I’ve found yet—only one leg needed to be adjusted during our 45 minute hike. No snowballs formed on her floofs because of the high sides, and she seemed to be able to move pretty freely. I’m planning on a longer snow hike with her later this week, and you BET I’m pulling out the a**less chaps for it.

We ended the week with two more doggie playdates, one with Olive (a Silken like Cleo) and another with Asher (the sweetest good boy). I think Cleo really appreciated going on a solo playdate with me. She has been a little moody with Marcy lately, and I noticed after our outing she seemed a lot happier. So I guess I have to take all three girls on solo trips every day now to keep them happy 😅.
This upcoming week, Dom and I are traveling to visit family out in the PNW. We just checked the weather, and it’s supposed to rain the entire time—truly just our luck. But we are still really looking forward to it; the only downside is the guilt of leaving the girls. This will be Marcy’s first weekend without us, and I feel like she’s not going to take it well. She definitely has a little bit of separation anxiety, both about us and when Cleo or Abby go somewhere without her. It’s going to be hard to enjoy our trip if she’s really anxious back home, but she has to learn that we go away every once in a while. We are just really hoping she doesn’t get too upset 😭.
I’ve been keeping up with my “bad vlogs” on YouTube and just posted one today about all of the adventures I talked about above!! I’m really enjoying having another more casual outlet for sharing the girls. Let me know if you have any ideas or types of videos you’d like to see for behind the scenes on YouTube!
As always, praise be the snoot :)

Can we just talk about that gorgeous insect-themed living room rug? 😍 🤩Where is it from?
The assless chaps! SO B&D! 😂
